FOSS4G organises an Academic Track, parallel to the general track, which has been key to helping share and expand Open Geospatial Science ideas globally. The main purpose of the Academic Track is to bring together researchers, teachers, developers, users and practitioners carrying out research activities in geospatial domains, with an emphasis on solutions making use of open source software and open data.
GODAN has been promoting the use of open resources and tools for our capacity development programs. Details can be found in the Capacity Development Working Group section of the GODAN Web site.
