Chief Executive Andre Laperriere was at the Eastern European Copernicus & Space Applications Conference to discuss GODAN’s activities related to supporting data-driven decision making. Mr Laperriere also be talked about open data policies and data sharing, as well as our work with local and grassroots stakeholders in the field of agriculture and nutrition.
 
The conference took place from 11th to 12th October and was organized by members of the Romanian Space Agency. It was hosted by the Romanian Chamber of Deputies and Romanian Parliament, under the auspices of the Romanian Ministry of Research and Innovation with the support of the European Space Agency and the European Commission. Currently at its 7th edition, the conference covered the latest updates on Galileo, the Copernicus Earth Observation programme, the GOVSATCOM initiative, and the Space Situational Awareness (SSA) programme, focusing on developments with consistent output in other societal and economic areas.
 
Delegates included local and regional decision makers, public authorities and private companies, space agencies and research organisations
 
GODAN was also be part of a panel discussing the existing offer of Earth Observation powered data platforms and other non-geoformation data sources in relation to user needs and respectively, their capacity to respond to users’ demand for information and socio-economic challenges.

•           Christophe Venet, Head of European and International Relations Department, CNES – Presentation on French national platform evolution (Peps) and the interaction with the other European platforms (DIAS).
