Data is ubiquitous. Its production is ramping up and expanding rapidly. Ever greater computing power is driving data processing and use across every sector of the economy and society. As more data is produced, more questions around data ownership, control, use and management are emerging. For every new positive application of a data-driven technology, there is also a new risk of misuse. In light of this, it is more important than ever that professionals working in all sectors have a clear understanding of how the law treats data. How is data defined in law? Can data ever truly be owned? How do we differentiate between data that can be "owned" and that which cannot? How should personal and sensitive data be treated? How do these same issues apply to agricultural data?
In this Webinar, Tom Orrell, Director of DataReady - an organisation with considerable expertise in data governance - will explore some of these questions. While not all the content touched upon is agriculture-data specific, the answers to these questions are foundational knowledge for anyone seeking to gain a better understanding of how data is regulated and governed.
