Open Call for Making Open Data Management Course Materials Available in Major World Languages

As part of its capacity development efforts, the GODAN Action project developed a free MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) on Open Data Data Management in Agriculture and Nutrition. The course was delivered 5 times between November 2017 and November 2018, reaching over 5000 people globally, before being made available for unrestricted use on github. GODAN now seeks pro-bono services from existing or future GODAN partners to get the materials translated into major languages. Making these materials freely available would be of great benefit to the wider global community.

The GODAN Secretariat would like to express their gratitude to all GODAN Action colleagues involved for their efforts in creating this training material and making it available for the good of the entire community, but now we would like to explore avenues to make this freely and openly accessible to even wider audiences.

We have already received considerable interest in making this useful resource available in additional language versions. On behalf of the wider GODAN community, we would like to extend our thanks to CAFDO, who have translated the course material into French - we have received offers to translate the work into Spanish, Arabic and several other major languages, and are looking for collaborations with further partners for other language versions. If you or your organisation are interested in participating, please send an Expression of Interest, explaining how you intend to contribute (including details on expertise, resources, etc) to the editorial work to ensure it is accurate and of high quality. Please outline a versioning strategy, to account for updates to the original text.
