Open Data Policy in Burkina Faso

GODAN's executive Director is in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso this week to attend the Regional Conference on ICT and Geodata, co-organised by The Netherlands Space Office (NSO) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO).

During the visit to Ouagadougou, Mr Laperriere will attend a number of bilateral meetings with several high level ministers and organisations to discuss the potential for an open data policy or agreement to be put in place within the country. Mr Laperriere will be meeting with Deputy Executive Secretary of CILSS Ibrahim Lumumba Idi-Issa; Jacob Ouédraogo, Burkina Faso's Minister for Agriculture and Water Development; and Hadja Fatimata Ouattara Sanon Minister of Digital Economy and Postal Development to discuss how a more formal open data policy might be of benefit to the country and its farming community, and to see how GODAN can use its experience in the field to assist.
